I’m a huge fan of Gerard Way and Gabriel Baa’s The Umbrella Academy. So one day when I was simply looking to get back to doing some actual sketching, I looked no further than the Spaceboy figurine sitting right in front of me on my desk.

I only sketched for about 5 minutes before snapping a photo of it with my iPhone and emailing to myself to trace in Illustrator, but that was the easy part. I spent the next several days working on nothing but the vector of Spaceboy itself, posting the various steps to my Dribbble account. Once I had Spaceboy perfected, making the rest of the poster was something I only had to spend a few hours on. It was something where the ideas came quick and the vision was precise.

I hope you enjoy the wallpapers I’ve made with this and the 11×17 poster, I just hope I’m not forced to take it down for any reason. It’s too cool to not be shared.
